Getting More than a Degree

As a student at Algoma U, you can run for student government in the Algoma University Students’ Union (AUSU) and/or the Shingwauk Aboriginal Students’ Association (SASA). You can relax at night in the student centre, The Speakeasy, where you can listen to a band, sing your heart out in karaoke, or dance the night away at a themed pub night. If the pub isn’t your scene, don’t worry. There’s plenty of student clubs with a wide variety of interests – everything from gaming, social activism, gardening, and photography. And if you can’t find something that interests you, you can always start your own club! Plus, there’s varsity athletics and intramural sports. Literally, there’s something for everyone!

And with events like Frosh Week, Frost Week, Homecoming, and more, you can show off your school pride and have fun doing it. Be sure to check our events calendar regularly to stay up to date on everything Algoma U and ensure you don’t miss out on our exciting lineup.

The activities you participate in on- and off-campus also helps build your resume with volunteer experience. Your experiences can be added to Algoma U’s Co-Curricular Record, which is an official record of your community engagement, volunteerism, and service leadership. What better reason is there for you to get involved at Algoma U?!
