(Sault Ste. Marie, ON- January 22, 2019): Members of the Algoma University Thunderbirds Wrestling team have a lot to celebrate this month, with two students climbing further up the USports national rankings.  The progress has resulted in the team being ranked tenth overall in the country;

Three Thunderbird Wrestlers reached the podium at the OUA Wrestling Championships hosted by the University of Guelph on Saturday, February 1st.  Brody Collison won a Gold in the men’s 54 kg category, Emily Duchesne won Bronze in the women’s 51 kg category and Bryce Davis also won Bronze in the men’s 68 kg category. 

On a mild Sunday afternoon in Sault Ste. Marie at the George Leach Centre the visiting Ottawa Gee-Gees Women’s Basketball team were playing the Algoma Thunderbirds in a hotly contested regular-season game.

The Thunderbirds were coming off of a tough loss against the Carleton Ravens on Friday night 78 to 57 whereas the Ottawa was rolling along with a victory over Guelph and are currently ranked 2nd in the country by U Sports (Nov.
