An Evening of Broadway Favourites Hits Centre Stage at Algoma U

(SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - July 23, 2010): The Algoma University Music Department will be presenting a musical theatre concert, "An Evening of Broadway Favourites", on Monday, July 26th, 2010 at 7:30 pm in the Shingwauk Hall Auditorium at Algoma University.

Algoma U Music StudentsThe concert will feature students of The Musical Theatre Vocal Ensemble; Nicole Dugas, Jennifer Gauvreau, Calyssa Rimkey, Mister Tahti and Marisa Valois and will be under the direction of Agnes McCarthy. Paul Dingle will perform on piano.

The concert will feature songs from Broadway classic such as Chorus Line, Annie Get Your Gun, Anything Goes, Gypsy, Wicked, and Spring Awakening. "Our Algoma University student musicians and singers are always eager to play for a live audience. Performing famous Broadway hits and playing off the audience's enthusiasm for these songs, adds even more energy to their show", explains Dale Innes, Algoma University Music Professor. "Some individual songs they are presenting include Lullaby Of Broadway, There's No Business like Show Business, Old Fashioned Wedding, and The Wizard and I, to name a few."

This performance is free and open to the public.
