Summerfest 2011

On Wednesday, August 17, 2011, Algoma University Faculty, Staff, Administration, and their families headed to Batchewana Provincial Park for the first annual summer celebration of Staff and Faculty achievement. After a morning of sandcastle building on the beach and a lunch catered by Arturo's, Staff and Faculty were recognized for their acheivements. Dr. Myers welcomed new Faculty and Staff, and recognized some new additions (babies!) to the Algoma family. Awards included the Thunderbird Award, Years of Service pins, and recognition of Faculty research and teaching.

Thunderbird Award

The successful recipient was TIFFANY GALLIVAN, GRANTS AND ACCOUNTING OFFICER

• The nomination for Tiffany contained support from five different individuals and characterized Tiffany in the following way.

• always “goes the extra mile”
• dedicated to her work
• desire to support others
• has incredible patience when we err
• manages to keep her sense of humour when things go “wonky”
• outstanding commitment to service excellence
• part of the University accounting department but also supports some of the partnerships that Algoma is involved in such as NORDIK, the Health Informatics Institute and the Invasive Species Research Institute
