Algoma U students have plenty of options in regards to residence. The Algoma Dormitory, Spirit Village International Dormitory, and Spirit Village Townhouses are centrally located on campus, each unit a single room with access to laundry, common rooms, kitchens, and much more.
Algoma Dormitory
The Algoma Dormitory opened its doors in September of 2012, and is a large, clean, secure 96-bed student residence. Algoma Dormitory provides a comfortable, safe, and convenient on-campus residence for first-year, direct from high school students. Algoma Dormitory includes:
- Fully-furnished bedroom with a single bed, desk, and wardrobe
- Bathroom shared with only one other student
- High-speed wireless Internet connection
- Local phone service (in the common room)
- Security features and 24-hour video surveillance in common areas
- Weekly cleaning service in all bathrooms and common areas (except during spring/summer session based on occupancy)
- Dormitory common rooms with entertainment centre and microwave
- Study space
- Elevator access
- Laundry facility
- Mailroom
- Parking*
- Meal plan**
Spirit Village Dormitory
The Spirit Village Dormitory provides a comfortable, safe, and convenient on-campus residence for Canadian and international students. The Spirit Village Dormitory is a large, clean, secure 45-bed student residence. Students can enjoy access to a shared kitchen space, allowing them to prepare their own meals. Many of our international students live here, allowing you the chance to embrace diversity and maybe take your taste buds on a cultural adventure! The Spirit Village Dormitory includes:
- Fully-furnished bedroom with a single bed, desk, and wardrobe
- Bathroom shared with only one other student
- High-speed wireless Internet connection
- Local phone service (in the common room)
- Security features and 24-hour video surveillance in common areas
- Weekly cleaning service in all bathrooms and common areas (except during spring/summer session based on occupancy)

Spirit Village Townhouses
The Spirit Village Townhouses provide convenient and affordable on-campus housing for Algoma University students. Each unit contains five private bedrooms, two bathrooms, a common living room, and a kitchen. The townhouses include:
- Private bedroom with a single bed, desk, and dresser
- Fully-furnished kitchen and living room spaces with a kitchen table and chairs, sofa, television, refrigerator, and oven
- High-speed wireless Internet connection
- Local phone service included
- Study space
- Laundry facility
- Mailroom
- Parking*
*Please note that students have access to parking at Algoma University; however, there is a $5.00 park fee upon each exit. Students can purchase a parking pass from the Cashier’s Counter in the Main Office (Room NW307 – Student Success Central) for $100 a semester. Fees are subject to change.

Algoma University has partnered with the Canada Homestay Network (CHN) to provide homestay accommodations. CHN offers students unlimited support and will match you with a welcoming family who will provide accommodation, English and cultural immersion and all meals during your stay.
