The Algoma University Foundation is the fundraising arm of the University, and depends on the generosity of alumni and friends of the university to provide scholarships and bursaries, support for special projects and capital funding to the university. Your gift will provide financial aid to students who otherwise might not be able to complete their studies, help Algoma U continue to provide a top notch educational environment, and will be an investment in the future of Sault Ste Marie and the Algoma Region. There are a number of ways for you to give to the Foundation.

Annual Campaign
The Algoma U Foundation Annual Campaign provides scholarships to Algoma U students with exceptional academic performance. Scholarships are offered to high school graduates and college transfer students with demonstrated academic achievement, and can be carried through to graduation if academic performance is maintained.
In September 2006, the Foundation provided over $130,000 in general scholarships to students. As Algoma U grows, and as the entrance average for new students continues to climb, more and more students will be eligible for these scholarships.
Everyone from staff to students to community businesses to parents to alumni donate to the Annual Campaign! There are many ways to give: cash, cheque or credit card, monthly pre-authorised payments directly from your bank account, or payroll deduction (for Algoma U employees).

Endowment Gifts
The Algoma U Foundation is committed to providing scholarships and bursaries to Algoma U students now, and into the future. The Algoma U Foundation currently manages a number of endowed funds that provide scholarships and bursaries to Algoma U students. These funds are held by the Foundation in perpetuity, and the interest earned by these funds is used to provide financial awards to students.
New endowed funds are created with donations of $20,000 or more, sometimes pledged over a period of three to five years.
