Algoma University First Generation Project

Students in ClassThe First Generation Project supports Algoma University students in their efforts to reach their academic goals, and encourages students who are not yet attending university to access post-secondary education.

The First Generation Project provides support services to first generation students, such as mentorship programming, outreach and access to information that is fundamental to achieving student success both on-campus and in the community.
 

Who is a First Generation Student?

If your parent(s)/ guardians did not complete college, university, or an apprentice program in Canada you are a First generation Student. This definition was developed from guidelines provided by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

The First generation project is part of Student Services and Recruitment at Algoma University, and is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
