Conference Facilities

 

Why not host your next conference at Algoma University? We're located in the east end of beautiful Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, right next to the St. Mary's River.

 

Shingwauk Hall, a historical landmark in the community, offers first-rate modern facilities making Algoma University the perfect meeting place for conferences of any size.

 

Our facilities include:

• East Wing Lecture Theatre - seats 90

• Auditorium/Theatre - seats 160

• Cafeteria and Lounge - seats 160

• Great West Life Amphitheatre - seats 190

 

Refreshments, bar service and audio/visual services can be provided in all facilities. Banquet and Catering services are available upon advanced reservation.

 

 

Accommodations in Residence

 

Available in summer months, our Spirit Village Residence features a 45-bed dormitory style building, as well as 76 beds in 15 townhouse style units. All facilities are located on campus.

 

The dormitory has individual bedrooms, one shared bathroom for every two rooms, and a common living room.

 

The townhouse style units each offer 5 private bedrooms with individual keys, two bathrooms, a common living room area and a fully equipped kitchen.

 

Bedding, towels and cleaning service are provided. One full handicap service suite and 3 handicap bedrooms in the dormitory with elevator access are also available.

 

Guests can take advantage of the university's cafeteria and catering services or use the fully equipped kitchens for extended stays in the townhouses. To learn more about cafeteria and catering services, please click here.

 

Internet connection and local phone access are available in all rooms. There are also on campus laundry facilities, television rooms and outdoor patios.
